First of all let me start by saying that I have been an active distributor of Send Out Cards since July 2009, so this isn’t an unbiased SendOutCards review so to speak, but I will give you my take after 2+ Years of being involved with the company. There’s no pitch at the end telling you I will show you how to get a million leads a day online to build your business (Everyone is a “Guru” these days huh?), but I wanted to make this SendOutCards Review to fully explain why it may make sense to start building a side income with SendOutCards now, versus when I started 2 years ago.
When I started I loved the service, I recognized the value of Sending out Greeting Cards to clients, and prospects, so SendOutCards made perfect sense to me to help me in my telecommunication business for follow ups, as well sending cards and gifts for personal use. I saw Send Out Cards as a viable secondary income, and I suppose the thing I like the most, is you can create a nice income WHILE using the service to help you show better customer appreciation, as well as build better relationships personally and professionally. Send Out Cards is a MLM Home Based Business Opportunity started in 2004 by Kody Bateman. Send Out Cards has grossed over $150 Million in the last 5 yrs, so Send Out Cards is NOT a scam. The idea of the company is that nobody ever actually mails out “real” printed greeting cards anymore (when was the last time you received a greeting card in the mail?) so there is an obvious market for the service (The Greeting Card and Gifting Industry is over $100 Billion a year). We all know that trying to STAND OUT in the crowd of marketers is a key to our success in any business, and this is exactly what SendOutCards does for over a 100,ooo businesses and indivuals throughout the world.
Send Out Cards is network marketing business and web-based service that lets people create customized greeting cards on-line that the company then prints and mails on their behalf. Cards can be designed with your own photos, artwork and messages, making them truly personal and unique. You can even type in your own handwriting, add your digitized signature inside, which is very cool! Send Out Cards also offers “gifts” for a wide variety of occasions that can be sent along with a card. For people who like to send cards, Send Out Cards makes it really convenient, affordable and fun to send just the right card for the occasion. People who are interested in using the Send Out Cards service can subscribe through a Send Out Cards distributor. There are usage packages available starting at under $10 per month, or purchase the wholesale package which allows the lowest possible pricing for sending greeting cards and gifts on a regular basis. The standard pricing at wholesale for a greeting card is 62 Cents, and retail is 98 Cents…compared to $4-5 for the same card at Hallmark or American Greetings.

As with any legitimate home based business, there are people making a very nice living as independent distributors with SendOutCards. Also, as is typical with the MLM industry in general, there are many distributors who are making nothing. Is this the fault of the business or the distributor? Both, in my humble opinion. Most home businesses do not help their distributors with marketing. If they do, it’s the old-school family and friends “strategy”, though that is still an effective way to build. It’s also the distributor’s fault because most people are just not entrepreneurial, and even though they join the business with high “hopes”, they never really intend on putting in any effort to grow their business.
In order to be successful in any Network Marketing company, a few things must exist before you can not only make money today, but build a long term profitable business.
- A Duplicatable Process of Showing the Business…SendOutCards has an excellent 3 Minute Video to Share the Business
- A Unique Product with a High Perceived Value to the Customer (62 Cents per Card versus $3-5 at Hallmark)
- A Large Territory to Market (Businesses and Individuals in 6 Countries and Ships Worldwide)
- Low Barriers to Entry for Customers….Free Accounts for Customers, and $9.80 a Month for 10 Greeting Cards
- Timing…SendOutCards is old enough to be viable, 6 yrs, but at $60 Million in 2010 in a $100 Billion Dollar Industry there is a tremendous upside for Send Out Cards in the future.
So What’s Changed with SendOutCards?
For starters, and the biggest problem they had a couple of years ago was a way for the average person to tell the story of SendOutCards, and show how the software works to send a greeting card. The “sizzle” video was more like a movie (15 minutes long), and it was hard to keep someone engaged long enough to stay with you through the exposure process. Today there is a 3 minute video that does an awesome job of explaining the service, and it’s hilarious, fun, and keeps your attention while you watch it. Watch the SendOutCards retail video HERE.
A second obstacle was similar in that explaining how to make money with Send Out Cards was difficult too. They have introduced a second “bridge” video that shows a prospect how the income opportunity works…very simply. Watch that video HERE. In a nutshell, anyone, yes anyone can show how the entire program works in less than 7 minutes…without even sending a card. SendOutCards has knocked it out of the park with the new presentations.
Now let’s tie this all together from looking back, and where Send Out Cards is today. 2 yrs ago they had Greeting Cards and Gifts, and limited editing options for photos. Today they have rolled out MAJOR software upgrades for editing, added Photo Books, Calendars, Vision Boards, Canvas Portraits, Video Cards, and vastly expanding their gift offerings. It’s just an amazing business build tool, and a fun way to earn some extra money, or build a substantial income if you have the desire to do so.
Individuals that elect to become an independent distributor of Send Out Cards, allowing them to build their own “organization” and earn money 3 different ways. The cost of entry to get started with Send Out Cards as a distributor is $295 and comes with 100 Greeting Cards, or usable volume for gifts, a contact mgmt system, full training, and a “life support” system from top leaders unlike anywhere in the Direct Selling industry.
Distributors with Send Out Cards earn money three ways:
1. Leadership Bonuses – Distributors are paid each time they personally recruit a new distributor into the business who purchases a product package. This bonus starts at $140 for a new distributor and increases as the distributor earns higher ranks within the 6 different levels of the compensation plan. To qualify, the distributor must have at least 3 qualified customers and meet his or her personal monthly volume requirement. Distributors also earn downline coding bonuses when new reps are sponsored in their organizations.
2. Retail Sales Commissions – These commissions are earned according to the monthly retail sales of a distributor’s customers. Commissions of 5% – 30% are earned depending on the total number of qualifying active customer subscriptions.
3. Residual Commissions – Residual commissions are based on the volume generated by a distributor’s downlines. The commissions range from 5% at the retail level of the comp plan up to 30% at the very top of the comp plan. The good news is that once you have a customer, they will most likely be a customer for years. The service is awesome!
SendOutCards Review – Summary
Like most network marketing businesses, the key to being successful with Send Out Cards is being able to promote the business and recruit new prospects into your organization. The more people on your team and the more people using the service, the more money you will make. Your job would be to 1) share the opportunity and recruit new distributors, 2) send out cards and gifts each month, and 3) train and show others how to duplicate.
